Fiber Project Manager
- A bachelor’s degree in project management, civil engineering, telecommunications, or a similar discipline is required.
- Three or more years of telecom network project management experience is required.
- Project management and fiber network implementation are areas of expertise.
Core responsibilities
- Planning and carrying out projects
- Oversee the deployment of end-to-end fiber networks, including metro fiber, FTTH, FTTx, and backbone.
- Coordination between the team and the vendor
- Oversee internal teams (documents, QA/QC, design, and construction).
- Work together with suppliers, subcontractors, and government representatives.
- Visit the site to keep an eye on the status of the work and guarantee quality standards.
- Reporting and the budget
- Create project budgets and keep an eye on the bottom line.
- Monitor the cost, schedule, quality, and safety KPIs for the project.
- Update high management on a regular basis.
- Documentation and compliance
- Verify that every project complies with corporate rules, industry standards (like IEEE and ITU-T), and legal requirements (like TCRA).
- Oversee the project’s paperwork, which includes permits, test results, as-built drawings, and BOQs.
- Management of risks and issues
- Determine possible hazards and put mitigation strategies into action.
- Resolve logistical or technical issues and manage project escalations.
