Job Summary: The Community Development Officer works under the supervision of the Community Development Coordinator and is in charge of community development and addressing problems in local communities that jeopardize the safe water project’s viability. Living in or close to the workplace is required for this full-time role, which is based in our Kigoma regional office in Kasulu. It calls for regular travel to the regions under the regional office’s jurisdiction where Water Mission Tanzania programs are implemented.

In addition to being able to work in field settings for up to one week on a regular basis and sometimes for longer periods of time, the community development officer must be willing to settle down in Kasulu.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Mission Driven
- To coworkers, partners, the communities we serve, and the general public, uphold a strong Christian witness and act as an example of servant leadership.
- Before and after team meetings, participate in and engage in prayer.
- Lead and take part in staff devotions that are based on the Bible.
Other Duties
- Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) training (TOT) utilizing a given curriculum.
- Teaching WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) in schools and giving administrators and teachers the tools they need to implement it.
- Encourage school health clubs to train and keep an eye on their progress.
- Resolving community problems that pose a threat to the project’s success.
- Photographing, documenting testimonies, testing water quality, and keeping track of projects and evaluations are all part of project reporting.
- Supporting the communities through initiatives including water user registration, microfinance development, and the establishment of the Safe Water Committee.
- Creating a curriculum for WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene).
- Standard forms are uploaded to the reporting database.
- Assisting with the preparation, implementation, and reporting of carbon credit monitoring, validation, and verification projects
- Arrange for donor travel and visits, including transportation to the project locations.
