SUA Courses (Programmes) Offered
Through its colleges, schools, and departments, Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) provides 39 bachelor’s degree programs, six diploma programs, and two certificates. The list of undergraduate programs offered by SUA that result in the awarding of bachelor’s, master’s, and certificate degrees is as follows. This prospectus and the websites of each unit and program provide comprehensive details on their structures.
Bachelor’s degrees are offered at Sokoine University of Agriculture in three years (six semesters), diplomas in two years (four semesters), and certificates in one year (two semesters). While the Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine program lasts five years (10 semesters), the Bachelor of Bioprocess and Post-Harvest Engineering and the Bachelor of Irrigation and Water Resources Engineering programs last four years (8 semesters). Every program is available full-time.
When to apply
Qualified individuals are invited to apply between June and July of each year, and those who are accepted are notified between September and October following the university’s review and approval. The school year begins in October or November.
Registration into the Programmes:
Within two weeks of the start of the academic year, admitted students must use the online self-registration module found in the SUA Student Information System (SUASIS) to register for their programs after paying the necessary fees and obtaining national health insurance.
Course Registration:
Within the first two weeks of each semester, students must enroll in Core and Elective courses created especially for their programs in order to complete the necessary number of credit hours. You are now prepared to start an incredible academic journey at SUA after completing this process.
How to apply for admission
Candidates should use the online admissions system to apply directly to SUA. Visit www.sua.ac.tz/apply to receive step-by-step instructions.
It is recommended that non-Tanzanian applicants email their application letter and copies of their academic credentials to admission@sua.ac.tz if their certificates were not issued by the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) or the National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA).
Before submitting their applications, candidates with foreign secondary school diplomas should make arrangements for an equivalency translation with the National Examinations Council (NECTA) and/or NACTE. You can get any assistance or guidance you require by contacting the admissions office at any point before or throughout the application process at admission@sua.ac.tz.
