Position: Business Process Solutions (BPS) Associate – Grant Thornton Tanzania

In Tanzania, Grant Thornton is seeking a dynamic, motivated, and qualified Associate to join the Business Process Solutions (BPS) unit. This position aims to support the execution of client engagements and contribute toward delivering efficient outsourced accounting and payroll services. Moreover, the selected candidate will help strengthen the firm’s commitment to exceptional client service and ethical standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately post clients’ accounting transactions, including payment vouchers, cheques, supplier invoices, bank entries, and general ledger journals.
  • Furthermore, validate and reconcile financial records, such as bank reconciliations and VAT return details, supported by proper documentation.
  • Ensure all client returns are filed correctly and that statutory payments are remitted on time.
  • In addition, process ETRs for approved invoices and maintain systematic filing in accordance with firm procedures.
  • Prepare accurate data and reports, including management accounts and journal entries, to support client decision-making.
  • Deliver excellent client service that aligns with firm policies and service standards.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality when handling client information and sensitive engagements.
  • Represent the firm professionally, fostering strong client relationships that promote trust and long-term cooperation.
  • Similarly, identify potential opportunities for business growth and client engagement.
  • Support the BPS team in achieving departmental objectives and improving service efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • At least 2–3 years of relevant work experience in accounting, taxation, or financial reporting.
  • Solid understanding of Tanzanian tax laws, including Income Tax, VAT, and Labour regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks, Xero, SAGE, or similar applications.
  • CPA or ACCA certification is an added advantage.
  • Prior experience working in a consulting or audit firm will be highly regarded.
  • Moreover, candidates should possess a strong work ethic and the ability to meet tight deadlines under minimal supervision.
