PSRS was set up under the Public Service Act No. 8 of 2002 and later amended by Act No. 18 of 2007, Section 29(1).

Main Responsibilities

Under the Public Service Act (Cap. 298, amended by Act No. 18 of 2007, Section 29(1)), PSRS is responsible for:

  • Sourcing skilled professionals and keeping a database of qualified candidates for easy placement.
  • Registering graduates and professionals for quick reference when job openings arise.
  • Advertising available government job vacancies.
  • Engaging relevant experts to conduct interviews.
  • Advising employers on various employment issues.
  • Carrying out any other tasks assigned by the Minister responsible for Public Service.
