To find and apply answers to problems in public health and education, JSI collaborates with local nonprofits, civil society organizations, and government agencies. Better health and education outcomes are achieved both domestically and internationally as a result of these collaborations, which also improve the accessibility and quality of systems. With eight offices in the US and 20 other countries, JSI employs over 1,000 people.

In order to provide sustainable access to and appropriate use of safe, effective, quality-assured, reasonably priced health commodities, the Ugavi Bora, Afya Bora Project aims to fortify Tanzania’s pharmaceutical and public health supply chains. The Ugavi Bora, Afya Bora Project must endeavor to strengthen local pharmaceutical management systems, including high-quality pharmaceutical services and national regulatory systems, and to increase the ability of local systems, institutions, and individuals to manage supply chains sustainably for both client-procured health commodities and those procured through national/local systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily cleaning and any necessary repairs for the office.
  • Organize all staff and consultant logistical support, including office setup, hotel reservations, conference scheduling, etc.
  • Make sure that employees are comfortable and well-organized in the office and its environs.
  • Make sure there are enough office supplies and materials for activities by working on procurement.
  • Oversee the office stores and storage system, including keeping thorough records of inventory levels and keeping an eye on employee usage as needed.
  • Coordinate with travel agencies to secure bookings and tickets for all domestic and foreign travel associated with the project.
  • Create and manage office administrative files in coordination with the front desk officer and other employees, providing extra filing assistance as required.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of three years of office management experience in a multinational corporation or international organization is required, along with a first degree in human resources, business administration, public administration, or a similar discipline.
  • prior professional experience in office administration.
  • Problem-solving abilities combined with expertise in staff leadership and coordination.
  • Strong communication abilities in both written and spoken English.
  • Adaptability, multitasking skills, and initiative.
  • Knowledge of inventory control.
  • Proficiency with the Word and Excel versions of Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with both computerized and manual filing systems.
  • Assertiveness and the capacity to handle pressure in work.
  • Accuracy and close attention to detail.
  • It is desirable if you have prior experience working with an international NGO.
  • The capacity to handle delicate situations sensibly and to always keep a high degree of confidentiality.
