Open Positions and Description
1. Clinical Research Assistant (4 Posts)
Location: Mwanza
Reports to: Principal Investigator and Study Coordinator
Qualifications & Experience:
- Clinical medicine, nursing, public health, biomedical sciences, or a similar discipline can be pursued with a diploma or bachelor’s degree.
- A minimum of one year’s worth of related job experience, such as as a research assistant, intern, or medical staff member.
- An additional benefit is experience in maternal health or clinical research.
- Certification in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) (or readiness to acquire).
- Strong Swahili and English communication abilities.
- Computer literacy: Google Docs, Outlook, Microsoft Word/Excel, SPSS, and REDCap (preferable experience or willingness to learn).

Key Responsibilities:
- Help with participant follow-ups, screening, informed consent, and recruitment.
- Gather information via questionnaires and interviews, and help with clinical assessments (e.g., blood pressure, blood and urine testing).
- Keep up-to-date databases and research records.
- Verify adherence to research ethics and procedures.
- Assist with meetings, sample transportation, logistics of study materials, and other administrative tasks.
- Any additional duties that the principal investigator assigns.
2. Social Science Research Assistant (1 Post)
Location: Mwanza
Reports to: Principal Investigator and Study Coordinator
Qualifications & Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in political science, psychology, social sciences, public health, or a similar discipline.
- A minimum of one year of research experience, ideally in maternal health or clinical settings.
- GCP Certification (or the desire to acquire it).
- Proficient in Swahili and English.
- Knowledgeable about or open to learning Google Docs, MS Word/Excel, REDCap, SPSS, NViVO, and Outlook.
Key Responsibilities:
- Help with data analysis, focus groups, and interviews.
- Assist with participant follow-ups, consent, screening, and recruitment.
- Assist with basic clinical measurements and data collecting.
- Ensure ethical compliance and keep correct records.
- Assist in organizing meetings, paperwork, and sample logistics.
- Additional duties that the principal investigator assigns.
Remuneration:
Successful candidates will be remunerated as per PRESHA Project Guidelines.
