Moshi Co-operative University (MoCU)
After the former Moshi University College of Co-operative and Business Studies (MUCCoBS) was promoted to a full-fledged university, the Moshi Co-operative University (MoCU) was formally founded on September 4, 2014. The Co-operative College Moshi began operations on January 5, 1963, to teach workers in the cooperative sector under the then-Ministry of Co-operatives and Community Development. This marked the beginning of the MoCU’s existence. As the Constituent College of Sokoine University of Agriculture, the Co-operative College Moshi changed its name to Moshi University College of Co-operative and Business Studies (MUCCoBS) in 2004.

MoCU is located in Tanzania’s Kilimanjaro Region’s Moshi Municipality along Sokoine Road. The following faculties, directorates, bureaus, and institutions currently make up the university:
- Faculty of Co-operative and Community Development (FCCD).
- Faculty of Business and Information Sciences (FBIS).
- Directorate of Research and Postgraduate Studies (DRPS).
- Directorate of Co-operative Library and Archives (DCLA).
- Directorate of Undergraduate Studies (DUS).
- Bureau of Consultancy Services (BCS).
- Institute of Continuing Co-operative Education (ICCE).
- Directorate of Human Resources Management and Administration (DHRMA).
- Directorate of Planning and Finance (DPF).

The University’s sole teaching facility is located in Kizumbi, Shinyanga Municipality. Through its 13 regional offices, it also provides services in every region of Tanzania. The regional offices are located in the Moshi, Tanga, Shinyanga, Mwanza, Dodoma, Tabora, Kigoma, Mbeya, Iringa, Songea, Kibaha, Mtwara, and Singida areas. Provides research, residential and non-residential learning programs, a range of field training programs, advising and consulting services, and customized programs.
MoCU aims to promote knowledge, wisdom, understanding, and creativity through teaching, research, and consulting on all topics related to co-operative development, rural transformation, business studies, information and communication technology, law, accounting, finance, and other relevant fields.
