Position: Driver Grade II (6 Posts) – Re-Advertisement

The Director of Arusha City Council invites qualified Tanzanian citizens to apply for the position of Driver Grade II following approval from the President’s Office – Public Service Management and Good Governance. This opportunity aims to strengthen the council’s transport operations by engaging competent and disciplined drivers. Moreover, the role offers candidates a chance to contribute to efficient public service delivery while ensuring the safety and maintenance of council vehicles.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect the vehicle before and after every trip to ensure it is in proper working condition and ready for use.
- Additionally, drive council staff safely to various work locations as required.
- Perform minor vehicle repairs and maintenance whenever necessary to maintain reliability.
- Collect and deliver official documents and other materials as instructed by supervisors.
- Furthermore, record and maintain accurate travel information in the vehicle logbook for accountability.
- Keep the vehicle clean and presentable at all times to reflect the council’s standards.
- Report any mechanical issues or accidents promptly to the transport officer for action.
- In addition, ensure all driving operations comply with traffic laws and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- Certificate of Secondary Education (Form Four).
- Valid driving license class E or C with at least one year of accident-free driving experience.
- Valid driving course certificate from VETA or any other government-recognized training institution.

Salary Scale:
- According to the Government Salary Scale TGS B1.
General Conditions:
- Applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged between 18 and 45 years.
